What are carpet tiles?

Since a very long time carpets were used by ancient China. The tradition continues even today and the generation is crazy for carpets. For some time in history, right after the first carpets were introduced, the Bedouins had their own carpet. Later these traditional carpets were imported to other parts of Asia. Today carpets have not only become an adornment but also an essential part of the household. Some people are very passionate about collecting different types of carpets.

Nowadays there are many different types of carpets available in the carpet market. The different choices and interior ideas had led the manufacturers to make such wide categories. Earlier the carpets were made by hand and this made them very unique in design. These days’ traditional carpets are not only expensive but also rare. People prefer the carpet tiles these days. The carpet tiles are nothing but small pieces of carpet in the shape of a tile. The installations of carpet tiles are easier than traditional carpets.

Not only are the carpet tiles easier to install, with imagination and creativity one can form patters with groups of carpet tiles. The idea of carpet tiles arose when the need for a floor covering rose for offices and other professional areas of business. The carpet tiles are also available in different colors and the best advantage of using carpet tiles is that these tiles can be cleaned if an individual tile develops a stain. Carpet tiles have yet another lifelong advantage of being durable. Compared to carpet rolls, carpet tiles are long lasting and efficient.

How to take care of carpet tiles?

We all know that prevention is better than cure and so this also goes for keeping dust and stains away from carpet tiles. Carpet tiles are different in many aspects from traditional carpets. At first the best carpets tiles are square pieces of carpets that are arranged to create a mosaic effect just like bathroom tiles. On the other hand traditional carpets are the ones that are a roll of thick covering that covers the whole of the floor. There is no fear of getting disjoint at the edges with traditional carpets.

Since the carpet tiles are joined to cover the whole of the desired area and this creates an empty between adjacent carpet tiles. This is where dust and other fluids make their place. If you have bought your carpet tiles from reputed stores, you might have received a cleaning solvent to remove temporary stains. This cleaning solvent is another dust and soils attracter. When you remove a piece of tile for the purpose of cleaning, the solvent cleans the area well but some of it still remains in the carpet tile. This becomes sticky with time and attracts dust and other dirt. So, this is why you need to keep dust and fluids away from carpets.

It is a Herculean task to clean carpet but with proper care you can keep the carpets dust free for a long time. No matter whatever you do, there is a need to clean the carpets periodically. For this steam cleaning is best because it does not leave the carpets damp and sticky and so there is a less likely possibility of catching dust and soil.
